The Team

Elizabeth Aldridge is Director of Care for our Residential Home.  Elizabeth not only brings to the table necessary business skills to operate successfully,  but complements her professional skills as a Registered General Nurse, with an Orthopedic Nursing Certificate, and is a certified Holistic Therapist and holds the City and Guilds Registered Managers Award.  She has had many years experience in the care of the elderly.  Prior to acquiring Penns Mount Elizabeth was a valued member of the Force Cancer Support Team based at Wonford Hospital Exeter in Devon, heading up their Therapies unit.  To cap it all! - Elizabeth also holds a Relate Certificate in Counseling Skills.  

Edward Aldridge is a Director of Penns Mount with previous experience operating his own financial and property companies for the past 30 years. He has responsibility for the financial management and economic health and well being of our Home.   He sometimes picks up his guitar and entertains our residents.  He is often surprised that they still want him to come back - and sing some more!  It is no secret that some think he has found his niche in life.

Marcus Lyward is the Home's dedicated manager - with up to 20 years of Care Home Management experience, and holds the City and Guilds Registered Managers Award.   Marcus has many other professional qualifications - too numerous to mention.  He is front of House, sensitive, and caring, and also extremely wise in his perception, coupled with the appropriate balance between caring and managing effectively and efficiently.  He is brilliant with our residents and equally professional and understanding to their loved ones visiting Penns.  Marcus is pro-active in co-opting input when necessary from the various health care professionals, and the home is quick to identify situations that require medical intervention and support, from the GP's, and other health care professionals.  Both Marcus and Elizabeth together with our staff pride themselves on spotting the warning signs that sometimes present themselves with our residents. They are incredibly perceptive when it comes to your loved ones needs.  

The Care Team is headed by Kelly and Sandra our Senior Care Assistants - the constant eyes and ears of Penns Mount.  They are highly qualified and have many years of care experience at the front line.  They are naturally intuitive, and above all they uphold the philosophy - that 'Your loved one comes first'.  Our seniors are complemented by 12 trained Care Assistants, Chef, Housekeeper and Maintenance Person (Ted 'The Spanner') 

Training. The Home is fully committed to staff education, skills development, and encourages training in National Vocational Qualification at all levels of care, and invests in further specialist tuition in areas relevant to our residents needs.
